Gu Vase

The waisted cylindrical vessel of slender proportions, cast in low-relief with a band of snakes and upright plantain leaves on the flaring neck and trumpet mouth, taotie masks around the middle section, flowers and confronting animals on the splayed foot, reserved on a leiwen ground.
Work of art how to archaic bronze and drinking vessel.

China, 17th century.
