A Tianqi-Decorated Lacquer Circular Box And Cover - 51 Ko

Lacquered red, green, ocher and black (Tianqi), the design is incised on a brown lacquer ground,
a gnarled five-clawed dragon among the clouds chasing the Flaming pearl , the rim with a double thunder pattern border, sides decorated with gren scrolling foliages and red flowers, the interior lacquered in red, black-lacquered base marked with six gilt characters of the Emperor Jiajing.

China, Ming Dynasty, Jiajing six-character mark and period (1522-1566)
Height : 4 cm (1.6 inches). Diameter : 19 cm (7.5 inches)
